SANTA MONICA RESIDENTS: We're curious why you choose to live here. She was identified as Kwanisha Foster, 24, of Los Angeles. The manager placed the employee under citizen’s arrest for theft. When confronted, the employee allegedly admitted to taking off the tags and at least four thefts. The manager did her own investigation and said she saw the employee remove security tags from some clothing. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the store manager who said a store employee was stealing merchandise. ![]() Officers responded to the 1200 block of the Third Street Promenade regarding an employee in custody for theft. She was identified as Amy Grebe, 27, of Colorado. ![]() She was booked for driving under the influence and a probation violation. The driver refused to take a chemical test. ![]() Officers determined that the driver was drunk. Officers had the driver perform a series of field sobriety tests. Officers turned off the vehicle and had the driver exit the vehicle. Officers said the driver had watery, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and they could smell alcohol on her breath. When officers arrived, they saw the woman in her blue BMW, apparently intoxicated. Officers responded to the 1400 block of Fifth Street regarding a female slumped over the steering wheel of her car with the engine still running. She was identified as Jillian Gilbert, 45, a transient. The woman was booked for possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, a probation violation and jaywalking. The baggy turned out to contain methamphetamines. As officers placed her under arrest, they observed a clear plastic baggy under her, police said. Officers eventually were able to place the suspect under arrest for resisting. She resisted officers’ attempts to talk with her and kicked at them, police said. When officers tried to make contact with the woman, she allegedly became verbally abusive. Officers were on routine patrol in the 1300 block of Seventh Street when they observed a woman jaywalking. The suspects were identified as Daniel Gutierrez, 18, of Los Angeles Moises Martinez, 20, of Los Angeles and Luis Prestegui, 19, of Los Angeles. Officers confirmed that all three conspired to steal the items and they were placed under arrest for burglary and conspiracy, police said. During the investigation, officers in Palisades Park detained two men believed to be accomplices. The suspect told officers that a friend gave him the bag to hold. In his possession was an Adidas bag filled with merchandise from several stores on the Third Street Promenade, including Abercrombie and Fitch, and Levi’s, police said. When officers arrived, they made contact with store security who said the suspect walked out of a store after tripping the alarm. Officers responded to the 1400 block of Second Street regarding a shoplifting suspect in custody. He was identified as Rodolfo Aviles, 18, of Los Angeles. The suspect was placed under arrest for robbery. Officers transported the first victim to the scene and he positively identified the suspect. Witnesses to both robberies provided police with a similar description of the suspect. At around 9:30 p.m., officers received another call about an armed robbery in the area of Fourth Street and Rose Avenue in Venice. He gave up the bag, which contained a laptop, glasses and a wallet. When officers arrived, they made contact with the alleged victim who told officers that he was walking when a man approached him, pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s bag. Officers responded to the corner of Second Street and Pier Avenue regarding a report of an armed robbery. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
